Tickets have gone on sale to share in $1.3 million prizemoney for The Kosciuszko sweepstakes, an integral part of the world’s richest race for country-trained gallopers.
14 winning tickets will be drawn on 8 September with each winner then selecting a NSW country or ACT-trained horse to race in their ‘slot’, once they have agreed with the horse’s owner group as to how they will share prizemoney for the race.
Goulburn Race Club CEO Robyn Fife believes it’s only a matter of time until a Goulburn trainer wins the popular race.
“Goulburn Race Club has had a locally trained horse feature in every edition of the race to date with 2020 being a real highlight”, Ms fife said.
“That year there were three Goulburn trained horses in the race with Danny Williams, Kurt Goldman and Tash Burleigh all securing slots for their owners in The Kosciuszko.”
Ms Fife also says it’s easier than ever in 2022 for Goulburn residents and horse racing fans to get hold of a potential ‘golden ticket’.
“Entry tickets for The Kosciuszko are just $5 and can be bought at any of our local pubs and clubs, through the TAB app and of course at any of our Goulburn race meetings of which the next is on Monday 18th July.”
Tickets sales will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday, 7 September 2022.
The Kosciuszko sweepstakes draw will then take place on Thursday, 8 September 2022 and be broadcast live on Sky Thoroughbred Central and racingnsw.com.au.
The Kosciuszko sweepstakes is conducted under Permit GOCSC/1051.
