Something Fishy Going On At Goulburn Races

For many blokes who love their races and fishing what could be better than combining both at the same venue?

Goulburn Race Club will make that dream a reality at its annual Best Western Plus Goulburn Boys Day Out Race Day on Saturday 13th April.

The club will host an on track fishing competition featuring magnetic fish and a pond full of prizes.

Any bloke that gets to the races on the day can enter and whilst the fish aren’t real …..the prizes and the racing action are!

The race going angler lucky enough to land the big fish will walk away with a giant esky (courtesy of Mitre 10 Goulburn) full to the brim with the winner’s beer of choice.

There is over $2000 worth of prizes for punters to ‘angle for’ at Goulburn’s Boys Day Out race meeting including

  • Prize packs from Mitre 10 Goulburn
  • Prize packs from BCF Goulburn
  • Vouchers from Mick’s On Auburn Barber Shop
  • Jarvis Walker Maxi Spin Kit, fishing rods & sleeping bags
  • Wakefield Park Raceway test and tune voucher
  • Passes to the Goulburn Speedway
  • Blokes packs from Worklocker

In addition, you have the chance to win a “ Trackside Top Up” of $500 cold hard cash simply by filling in an entry form provided at the gate..

President of Goulburn Race Club Ken Ikin says as a bloke he can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon combining a bit of fishing frivolity with live racing action!

“It sounds like an ideal combination for any bloke on a Saturday afternoon”, Mr Ikin said.

“It’s rare for us to be able offer the Goulburn community the chance to see live racing action on a Saturday so why not get trackside and have crack at winning some of the great prizes on offer in our Big Fish promotion as well.”

“The Boys Day Out race day coincides with Day 2 of The Championships at Royal Randwick, including Winxs’ farewell race. Patrons will be able catch all of the action on our big screens around the track as well as cheer on local horses in our own races.”

Trainers please note that nominations for Goulburn’s Boys Day Out Race Day on Saturday 13th April close Monday 8th April at 11.00am
