Fellas take note……Goulburn Race Club gets in on the spring racing action this Saturday with its biggest social day of the racing calendar, the Girls Day Out race day.
The day is big on tradition in the tablelands with the event now firmly ensconced in the Goulburn community’s social calendar.
Goulburn District Race Club CEO Robyn Fife channelled her inner Cindy Lauper this week saying:
“It’s a case of girls just want to have fun at this time of year as we prepare to host a crowd of around 3000 for one of our most popular racing and social events,” Ms Fife offered.
“Gates open at midday on Saturday here at Goulburn for what is always one of our best attended events on our racing schedule. The weather forecast looks promising too which is great for those getting set to dress to impress!”
“All of our hospitality options are sold out and there are $3000 worth of prizes to be won in the Bek’s Bloomz Fashions On The Field categories.”
“There’ll be great local racing action with a strong six-race card complimenting Five Diamonds Day at Rosehill Gardens:”
We’ll also have great live music by The Rich Pitcher and of course champagne…because it wouldn’t be a Girls Day Out without the bubbles!”
Speaking of Goulburn girls having a day out – both Tash Burleigh and Danielle Seib have been dressing up their own form with a run of ‘femme fabulous’ results in recent weeks. The pair finding spring a season to their liking. In the past month they’ve trained a combined fourteen winners (Burleigh 5 and Seib 9) at a strike rate of over thirty percent.
Burleigh delivered for connections again this week partnering with Robyn Freeman to produce Mosgold to win at Canberra on Tuesday. Prior to that stable star Iron Will won two on the bounce (Wagga and Canberra), building on the ‘springtime win time’ results of Tulla Park and Xspiritous in recent weeks. Iron Will now well and truly living up to his name with an enviable record of six wins from sixteen starts.
The Danielle Seib stable continued her low flying form of late when the well named filly Threefold (by Yes Yes Yes) saluted at Nowra on Sunday. That made it nine winners across eight different venues in the past month with stayers, sprinters and everything in between. Seib also secured a rare TAB Highway Handicap duet (Cable Express first, Ghost Walker third) in a recent Randwick edition of the race on Spring Champion Stakes Day.
Goulburn’s track is currently rated a Soft 5 for Saturday’s Girls Day Out program.
