Locals Can Deliver at Goulburn (Tuesday)

It’s a weekend of racing with a long tail that winds its way up the Hume to a solid eight race card at Goulburn on Tuesday.

Punters looking for a leg up could do worse than heeding the “local knowledge is good knowledge’’ mantra with twenty-two of the eighty-nine acceptors tablelands trained.

Early TAB Fixed Odds markets suggest the same with a number of local runners being kept safe in early shuffling.

Seib Racing is having a serious tilt at the prizemoney on the program serving up runners in five of the eight races.

Four-year-old mare Parthenope ($2.15 TAB) finds a winnable race on debut in the opener with two stylish trials under her belt.

The stable has further bolstered its chances of productive results on the day with the in-form Jean Van Overmeire booked to ride three of Seib’s five runners.

‘JVO’ looks ‘ready to go’ at Goulburn fresh off a winning double at Newcastle on Saturday. He’ll steer Adventure Seeker ($8.00 -Race 2), Stand In Line ($13 – Race 4) whilst the promising Cable Express ($5.50) adds plenty of interest to the Seib- Overmeire combination when it resumes in Race 7.

The hoop could have another productive day as he also partners Raiderlicious ($3.90) on debut for the Matthew Dale camp in Race 1 whilst  Floodgates ($8.00) looks capable of improvement back for a second campaign in Race 6 for Matthew Smith.

Other local charges on good terms with early markets at Goulburn include Ken’Ker ($3.70F- Matthew Dale / Nick Heywood) and Prince Papa ($3.80 – Pat Murphy / Mitchell Bell) both in Race 3, the Evergreen Turf Australia Benchmark 58 Hcp over a mile.

Danny Williams and Scott Collings produce Woodzy ($8.00) and Mood Killer ($8.50) respectively in the first leg of Tuesday’s quaddie, the former producing a ‘genuine trier’ first up at Goulburn on a heavy track.

Last but not least, the Anthony Warren trained Sir Lunchalots ($6.00) will look to kick on from a barnstorming debut win on his home track as he steps up in class and trip in Race 8, the Goulburn Roofing Class 1 Hcp over 1400m.

It was hard to miss winning connections cheering long and loud trackside on that occasion so expect more of the same if he’s in contention late.

Goulburn’s track is currently rated a Soft 5 for Tuesday’s program with the opener set to go at 1.10pm.

And the other piece of local advice? No matter the time of year…bring a jacket!
