As if picking the quaddie wasn’t hard enough!
Goulburn Race Club will be running a ‘guess the number of potatoes’ competition at the upcoming Crookwell Community race day on Thursday 26th September.
If you fancy yourself as a purveyor of the humble potato then get trackside to turn spuds into ‘cabbage’ with cash and other prizes on offer.
Whilst Crookwell is located forty-four km north-west of Goulburn the relationship between the two will be a lot closer next week. Thursday’s race day is a good example of racing providing a conduit for ongoing community fundraising that supports programs in rural areas.
The Crookwell Community Race Day will feature a minimum of six races sponsored by Crookwell’s local business community.
The day’s racing will help support the Crookwell Community Trust. The trust is a dedicated charitable organisation that provides emergency funding for those in need.
Races on the day will be sponsored by:
- Harts Pharmacy
- Crookwell IGA
- Duncombe & Co Livestock & Real Estate Agents
- Crookwell Tyre Service
- Dawson Chartered Accountants
- Hewitt Ag & Plant Repairs
The all important spuds will be supplied by John Bensley of Crookwell.
Gates open at 12.30 next Thursday.
And a tip? Anything in a jacket!
