This year’s ‘Goulburn Australia’ Goulburn Cup is only a fortnight away with the country showcase meeting offering close to half a million dollars in prizemoney making it a serious race day destination!
It’s a reinvigorated edition this year with a new presenting partner and a change of date for what is a mainstay community event in Goulburn.
The $200 000 ‘Goulburn Australia’ Goulburn Cup will be run over 1400m and has become a sought after CV addition for any stable.
Last year’s edition was a strong one with the winner, Grebeni, winning two metropolitan Saturday races subsequently and the runner-up, Phearson, progressing to win the Group 3 Festival Stakes two starts later.
The race offers Big Dance eligibility to the winner and is ideally positioned ten weeks out from the $3-million-dollar Big Dance at Royal Randwick on Tuesday 5th November.

- The Newgate Farm The Guy Walter ($50 000 Class 3 Fillies & Mares 1300m).
The latter offers winning connections the added incentive of a complimentary stud service to exciting Newgate Farm stallion North Pacific, valued at $16 500.
On the other side of the fence there is also plenty of incentive for racegoers to get trackside on ‘Goulburn Australia’ Goulburn Cup Day.
Goulburn racing offers a unique chance to be up close and personal to high class thoroughbred action and witness the skill of some Australia’s best male and female jockeys.
All on track patrons will be eligible to enter the draw for a Jamala Wildlife Lodge package at Canberra Zoo valued at $3000.
