It’s not just owners, trainers and horses targeting this year’s Goulburn Cup as a destination!
Complementing this year’s change of date (25th August) for the $200 000 feature race is news that ‘Goulburn Australia’ is the new naming rights partner for the mainstay community event and associated support program.
The five-year partnership is a ‘winning result’ for both Goulburn District Race Club and Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
Race Club CEO Robyn Fife believes the new partnership is a natural fit between the two organisations and one with multiple long-term benefits.
“We are excited to welcome Goulburn Mulwaree Council and its ‘Goulburn Australia’ brand on board as a major partner for our feature day of the racing calendar,” Ms. Fife offered.
“The club has a long history of working closely with Goulburn Mulwaree Council and this announcement adds another commercial layer to an already bona fide strong relationship.”
Ms. Fife said that the partnership features a number of extended benefits for both the Race Club and Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
“From a racing and facilities standpoint, the race club will now have guaranteed in kind access to water supplied through Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s cutting edge treatment facility,” Ms. Fife said.
“This will future proof a most cherished resource for our facilities and deliver key commercial outcomes for the club over a five-year period.”
“Importantly it will complement our additional stabling capital works and the expected future demand on track and training facilities.”
Goulburn Mulwaree Council Mayor Peter Walker believes the joint partnership has plenty of local benefit for council, community and the Goulburn region.
“The relationship between our racing industry and Goulburn Mulwaree Council is stronger than ever. We look forward to supporting the ‘Goulburn Australia’ Goulburn Cup.”
“Together we are showcasing Goulburn as a premier destination, attracting visitors to the region,” Mayor Walker continued.
Apart from being a sought after country cup resume addition for any stable the ‘Goulburn Australia’ Goulburn Cup offers Big Dance eligibility to the winner for 2024. The race is now ideally positioned ten weeks out from the $3-million-dollar Big Dance final to be held at Royal Randwick on Tuesday 5th November.
