The Goulburn Cup has a new date on the racing calendar.
The club would like to notify all industry participants that this year’s Goulburn Cup (1400m) will now be run on Sunday 25th August.
Goulburn Race Club CEO Robyn Fife says the club is keen to embrace the change of date.
“In more recent times the $200 000 Goulburn Cup and support program has been held in late October, early November,” Ms Fife said.
“The new date brings our feature race day forward by two months and still provides participants with a potential qualification opportunity for The $3m Big Dance held at Royal Randwick on Tuesday 5th November.”
“It will also remain a country showcase program featuring The Goulburn Cup and quality support races such as the Newgate Farm The Guy Walter and The Graeme Spackman Country Magic.”
“Last year’s corresponding meeting offered over $460 000 in prizemoney across eight races with the Goulburn Cup previously valued at $200 000.”
Nominations for this year’s Goulburn Cup will close on Tuesday 20th August 2024 at 11.00am.
