Fresh off a short summer hiatus Goulburn revs up its Summer / Autumn racing schedule on Tuesday with an eight-race card that looks a form friendly find.
It kicks off a run of racing in the tablelands with five meetings a lock in the racing diary over an eight-week period.
Goulburn District Race Club CEO Robyn Fife says the upcoming schedule provides the ideal build towards the SERA Country Championships Wildcard Race.
“We now have five meetings over an eight-week period which culminates in our Southern Country Championships Wildcard Race Day on Sunday 24th March,” Ms Fife said.
“With meetings in January, February and three in March, we are keen to showcase a strong program of racing over the next two months.”
Ms Fife believes Tuesday’s meeting looks one with some progressive horseflesh engaged.
“Original acceptances totalled over one hundred and we have a Class 4 Country Championship Preview race to kick off the card.”
“There is also a large contingent of horses and trainers from a variety of training bases across all eight races.”
Goulburn trainer Danny Williams also signalled immediate intent at Royal Randwick on Saturday with the Newhaven Park Country Championships just around the corner. The reigning Goulburn trainer of the year coaxed a first up win out of the progressive Bandi’s Boy (J Ford), whose record now stands at three wins from just seven starts. Watch this space with him!
Goulburn’s eight race card kicks off at 1.15pm on Tuesday with the track currently rated a Soft 6 and the rail in the true position.
