A winning treble at Goulburn on Sunday for journeyman jockey Shaun Guymer proved the point that good things can come in threes.
Guymer and his wife Emma recently started their own family so with ‘three’ now at home Guymer posted the same figure yesterday to mark the milestone.
At Goulburn yesterday his wins came in three consecutive races (3,4 and 5), all for different stables.
He got the ball rolling with a powerhouse win for the John Thompson stable on Chariots Of Fire over a mile before going rapid fire repeat over 1200m for the in-form Natalie Jarvis stable aboard Kattegat.
Guymer then continued to ply the sweet spot in the Goulburn track for Danny Williams, bringing recent stable addition Cock Match home a under a big weight in the short course event on the card.
Fatherhood is obviously agreeing with Guymer as is his decision to remain in the Southern region during the Covid-19 restrictions. In the last seven days he has notched five winners and another three runner up results.
Guymer will be looking to travel his good form to Kembla Grange on Tuesday where he has four competitive looking rides on the seven race card.
