With the full house sign now up at Randwick, Winx’s final run in the Group 1 $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes will also be watched off course by tens of millions of viewers around the world.
One of those ‘off but actually on course’ venues that punters, in particular blokes, can get to is Goulburn Race Club.
The tablelands track hosts its Boys Day Out Race Day on Saturday and gives blokes the chance to win over $2000 in prizes as well as the chance to catch WINXand The Championships Day 2 live on the club’s big screens.
There’s an on track fishing contest that will see one lucky punter walk away with an esky full of their favourite ale.
There is also the opportunity to win $500 cash in the club’s “trackside top up” promotion.
There are also plenty of prize packs from business that blokes love to go to like Mitre 10, BCF Goulburn, Mick’s On Auburn Barber Shop, Wakefield Park Raceway, The Goulburn Speedway and Worklocker.
President of Goulburn Race Club Ken Ikin says if you can’t get to Randwick then Goulburn races is the next best thing.
“It sounds like an ideal combination for any bloke on a Saturday afternoon”, Mr. Ikin said.
“It’s rare for us to be able offer the Goulburn community the chance to see live racing action on a Saturday so why not get trackside and have crack at winning some of the great prizes on offer.”
“The Boys Day Out race day coincides with Day 2 of The Championships at Royal Randwick, including Winx’s farewell race. Patrons will be able catch all of the action on our big screens around the track as well as cheer on local horses in our own races.”
For punters looking for an omen tip at Goulburn on Saturday they could do worse than follow No Doubt Ma’am, trained by Matthew Smith (Moruya) in Race 4 over a mile. Sounds appropriate on the same day we see WINX for the last time!
