Mchorseface Not Just A Face In The Crowd At Goulburn (Monday)

After a recent maiden win, cult galloper HORSEY MCHORSEFACE heads to Goulburn on Monday adding further interest to what looks an already strong card of racing.

The Bjorn Baker trained gelding has been very competitive in all four starts to date but won’t be the only “horse face” at the track with over a hundred acceptors for the meeting across eight races.

Stepping up to the mile for the first time HORSEY MCHORSEFACE tackles some in form gallopers including stablemate Prince Of Thebes in the Storage King Goulburn Benchmark 60 Handicap. Since debuting at Kembla back in April behind subsequent city winner Memes, “McHorseface” has delivered solid results for connections and attracted plenty of attention whenever he steps onto a float.

Goulburn’s Monday meeting also holds plenty of intrigue for punters with a strong contingent of city, provincial and country stables represented.

Leading the city flavour of the meeting is the John Thompson stable who will travel nine runners to the tablelands track, including a five-horse assault on the 1300m maiden race.

Other city stables also heading to Goulburn with genuine claims to the prizemoney on offer include Joe Pride, Peter & Paul Snowden, Clarry Conners, the Bjorn Baker yard, Matthew Smith, Mark Newnham and Greg Hickman.

On the local front, the in form Danny Williams stable will saddle up another strong brace of runners with five gallopers accepted on the day. The stable could reap an early reward with Harvest Dream and Cartel expected to make strong debuts in the first race on the program.  Whilst John Bateman will look to continue his productive run of recent results with last start winner Counterfire and the in form Common Purpose stepping out.  Tash Burleigh also sends Sungine around in the Benchmark 60 mile race with the galloper having finally drawn a kind gate after copping wide draws at his last two starts.

Goulburn Race Club Secretary Manager Robyn Fife is pleased to see such a wide number of stables represented.

“This Monday’s meeting has real variety of trainers represented with horses and owners expected to visit us from tracks in Sydney, Wagga, Kembla Grange, Wyong, Canberra and Hawkesbury to name just a few!”, Ms Fife said.

“We are expecting fine weather for the weekend and on Monday and look forward to making all visitors to our track very welcome.”

“Trainers, owners, members and their guests can also stay up to date with Goulburn track information and racing news via twitter @goulburnraces or our facebook page.”

The first race at Gouburn on Monday kicks off at 11.40am with full fields and form for the meeting available at
